RC Standard Data License v1

Version 1 (RC-DATA-LICENSE-v1), effective September 28, 2026. This is the first version of this license. If we publish a new version, the version you agreed to at checkout keeps applying to that order.

1. Parties and scope

This license is between Robotics Center (“RC”, “we”) and the organization or person that buys a dataset from the RC data marketplace (“you”). It covers the data files, annotations and documentation we deliver for that order (the “Data”).

2. What you may do

  • Use the Data inside your organization for research and development.
  • Train, fine-tune, evaluate and benchmark machine-learning models on the Data.
  • Use, sell and deploy the models you train, and publish results and aggregate statistics, as long as the raw Data cannot be extracted or reconstructed from what you publish.
  • Make copies needed for that use, including backups and copies on your cloud infrastructure.

3. What you may not do

  • Resell, sublicense, share, publish or otherwise redistribute the raw Data, in whole or in part.
  • Give access to the Data to anyone outside your organization, except contractors working for you under confidentiality terms at least as protective as these.
  • Try to identify any person who appears in the Data.

4. Non-exclusive

The license is non-exclusive. RC and its data providers may license the same or similar data to others. The license is worldwide and does not expire, but it ends if you materially breach it and do not fix the breach within a reasonable time after our notice.

5. Delivery

After payment we confirm availability and arrange delivery with you by email. Delivery is by secure download link or cloud transfer. Samples shown on the marketplace are representative of the data; they are not the full order.

6. Refunds

Full refund if we cannot deliver, or on request before delivery; after delivery, refunds only for material defects (for example the Data is corrupt, unreadable, or materially different from its listing).

7. Warranty and liability

Apart from the refund terms above, the Data is provided “as is”. RC’s total liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential losses.

8. Governing law

This license is governed by the laws of the State of California.
